The Crux Linux PPC distro arrives on the PegasosII through the new 1.3.1 version. CRUX is a lightweight, optimized Linux distribution targeted at experienced Linux users. The primary focus of this distribution is "keep it simple", which is reflected in a simple tar.gz-based package system, BSD-style initscripts, and a relatively small collection of trimmed packages. The secondary focus is utilization of new Linux features and recent tools and libraries. CRUX also has a ports system which makes it easy to install and upgrade applications. CRUX PPC is a port for PowerPC platform of CRUX Linux. It runs on NewWorld PowerPC systems. The included packages works at their best speed on G3 and G4 CPUs. CRUX PPC supports the major part of Apple's computers (Dual CPU included) and now also PegasosII computers. It also has special features (such as CPU Frequency Scaling) for laptops.
