They haven't been updated because they don't need to be .. besides, the dates you refer to aren't exactly correct since they don't reflect the combined product (several things that are part of ABox (as opposed to just the 68k/custom emu and exception-handler) *have* been updated)...

Yes, maybe the stuff around morphos has been updated but the main part is still over 2 years old.

Beside my assumption the post was intended to troll i like to correct
you: MOS was updated several times this year. Current release 1.4.5
is from May the 1st 2005, another small update (3D driver) has been
added later this year, too.
To check which compounds were updated check the changelog of the
release 1.4.5.

As I said, normally I do share your opinion about that. So that I certainly won't mind the use of different names - taken for itself, I'd even prefer this. My concern had just been to have some "common determinator" in the public's view.
But this discussion is just academical anyway, IMHO, since the name Efika for the embedded board suggests that bplan might prefer different names for different boards.
And besides this, it seems that sometimes third parties are responsible for the naming - at least it was said that the term OSW wasn't Genesi's choice. Okay, that's a complete machine, not just a mainboard - but on the other hand it seems that the future might also see 3rd party boards which get "just" the bplan HAL/OF added.
On the other hand, the latter aspect could again support using the name Pegasos as a general family name for all bplan/Genesi products to have some common determinator, a connecting name.
Which would make sense if one considers that Genesi themselves are calling that common software solution the "Pegasos HAL/OF".

"MorphOS is NOT dead."
Checking Quark Kernel and ABox....they dated 2003....so more than 2 years without updates. I doubt they will ever get an update soon.

And what about those that know the Pegasos name and therefore are not
interested in "Pegasos EFIKA" as they connect some newer desktop
mainboard with it which isn't useful for them?

@ I'd also vote for Pegasos as general brand name for the PPC boards by bplan - it's quite established meanwhile.
Also better known than bplan and more original than Genesi, which name is possibly more often misspelled as "Genesis" or whatever than Pegasos as "Pegasus". Not to mention the separation between both companies while "Pegasos" can be associated clearly with both of them.
Besides that, I don't see that this would exclude a differentiation between different low- and high-end models - the Amiga became the "Amiga 1000" afterwards as well, followed by Amiga 500 and A2000, etc.
Pegasos II -> Desktop (maybe later referred to as Pegasos Desktop G3/G4)
Pegasos Server 970 MP
Pegasos Blade XYZ
Pegasos Mobile Efika
etc.
I fully agree with this. Make Pegasos such a know platform as mac is. Its a very nice name for a computer. Troika is not a good name for example :) It reminds me of a chocolate been sold here in Norway ;)
Well, go for Pegasos name! You will win a lot on it. For once I hope that Genesi as a company "listens" to its community and comes up with their own mind and makes both happy.
Keep it up bbrv,.. and I wish you all the best!...

If one is an established, well-known company, I'd agree. But as a newcomer in a niche market, I'd keep some "common denominator".
Better 10000 people knowing "Pegasos" from their respective products (5000 "Pegasos II", 3000 "Pegasos Server 970MP" and 2000 "Pegasos Efika 1000") than 5000 knowing Pegasos, 2000 knowing Efika and 3000 knowing OSW. Products, btw, that they bought from this rock band, I think, or was it rather that ominous bplan company mentioned on the boot screen - dunno... ;-)

Last time I checked Amiga was not just some mainboard but a complete
computer.
It's not a bad idea to have different names for different business
sections.
